The Tree’s Dream

“The Tree’s Dream,” is a journey into the subconscious mind of a single tree, alone in adeserted wasteland. The Tree’s life is fading after so many years of loss and loneliness. Sherefuses to bloom, even when a gentle young Forest Sprite tries to help her. But when a majesticTurkey Vulture uses his magical powers to guide the little Forest Sprite through the many layersof the Tree’s dreaming mind, hope is rekindled. There, in the midst of the Tree’s dream theVulture believes that little Sprite may better empathize with the Tree and bring her the hope andstrength to bloom again.A colorful combination of puppets, (marionettes and bunraku) and masked performersexpress the Tree’s hidden emotional memories gathered, stored and even lost to abstractionthroughout its long life.Created and performed by The Elephantoms Puppet Theater, “The Tree’s Dream,” asks ifwe can heal the loneliness, the sadness of other living creatures by using our magical ability toempathize, no matter how different we are from one another.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time. Seating is first come, first serve.
