Creative Connection: The Board's Role in Advocacy

This free workshop will cover strategies to develop a culture of philanthropy within your board that will help you form a deeper engagement with your community and provide information to help your community advocate for your program.

Workshop attendees will learn how the board's role in advocacy relates to:
• Governance - The framework that structures the board and how it operates
• Sponsorship - The key investment decisions and top-level endorsement of the rationale of a program
• Ambassadorship - Having the voice your mission needs
• Consultancy - An outside perspective on the organization can be stimulating for the board

What is CREATIVE Connection?
With the goal of creating pathways for organizational growth and development of arts and cultural nonprofits in Santa Clarita, the purpose of the CREATIVE Connection program is to provide opportunities for business people and other community leaders to become more familiar with board service by working with these organizations.
Individuals will have the opportunity to attend board meetings, volunteer their skills and develop actionable recommendations that aim to better fulfill the nonprofit’s mission. Applications open June 2021
