About this Event
The Santa Clarita Master Chorale (SCMC) has announced a fully-virtual spring concert for their production, “Comforting Classics,” which is scheduled to commence in March.
The full-length digital event is led by SCMC Artistic Director Allan Robert Petker, and is set to feature archive moments from Mozart’s “Regina Caeli,” John Rutter’s “Requiem,” “Requiem for the Living” by Dan Forrest, and highlights from Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony.”
“We have titled our concert ‘Comforting Classics’ because that is exactly what we will present,” Petker said in a statement Monday. “Some of the most enjoyable moments during this past year have come from finding new ways to keep our chorale family connected.”
Some newly-recorded selections and an interview with Forrest are also set to be featured in the production.
“Music has a fabulous way of bringing a sense of peace and togetherness,” Petker said. “Helping our community stay positive is more important than ever.”
