CalArts Weekend 2019 DAY TWO

CalArts Weekend is the Institute's annual autumn celebration that brings together alumni, families, students, and friends of CalArts. This two-day gathering highlights leading artists from our community through performance, discussions, and experiences.

  • 1-2:15PM: BBQ Lunch @ Clarks Field, with live music by Abby and the Myth (ft. Abby Posner '06)
  • 2:30-3:30PM: Featured Forum 3 - Art of Politics @ Sharon Disney Lund Dance Theater with Ann Telnaes '85 and Melinda Johnson
  • 4-6PM: Alumni Reunion @ Clarks Field with live music by the Cumbia Ensemble (ft. Giancarlo Arzu '19, Pablo Leñero '19, Johnny Miguel, Emilia Moscoso, Eloy Neira '16 & '19, Susana Pineda, Diana Soto Texeira '19, and Martin Velez '16) 
  • 5-7PM: Food Truck Dinner @ E-block Bridge next to Clark's Field with food truck fare available for purchase
  • 6-8PM: Wild Beast Concert: Propositional Music: David Rosenboom Portrait Concert @ Wild Beast Concert Pavilion - concert celebrates and thanks Herb Alpert School of Music Dean and educator David Rosenboom. A selection of Rosenboom’s groundbreaking and globally influential works will be performed, including a new string quartet, brief alumni and faculty duets, and a composition for brainwaves, performed live. Featured artists include the Isaura String Quartet (with Emily Call '13, Madeline Falcone '13, Betsy Rettig '12), Lauren Baba '12, Hannah Dexter '15, Milen Kirov '02 & '12, Andreas Levisianos '15, Jxel Rajchenberg '12 & '15, Tina Raymond '10, Sarah Belle Reid '15, Daniel Rosenboom '07, Chrysanthe Tan '14 & '17, Gavin Templeton '08, Jake Vossler ’04 & ’08, and James Waterman '15.
