CalArts Weekend 2019 DAY ONE

CalArts Weekend is the Institute's annual autumn celebration that brings together alumni, families, students, and friends of CalArts. This two-day gathering highlights leading artists from our community through performance, discussions, and experiences.

  • 9:30-11:05AM: Screening of Alone in the Game (2018), co-directed and produced by Saturday featured forum presenter Natalie Metzger ’11 @ BIjou Theater
  • 11AM-12:30PM: CalArts Campus Tour
  • 11:30AM-1PM: Welcome Luncheon @ Clark’s Field, with live music by Duo Meranti (ft. Chrysanthe Tan '14 & '17 and Sean Hayward '15 & '19)
  • 1:30-2:30PM: Critical Studies Art and Pedagogy Faculty and Alumni Talk @ G201/G202 with Andrew Culp, Michael Leong, Sara Mameni, and Allison Yasukawa
  • 2:30-3:30PM: Drop In Meet Bailey Cool, Director of Patty Disney Center for Life + Work @ MOD Lobby
  • 3:30-5PM: CalArts Campus Tour
  • 4-5PM: Artist Talk with Herb Alpert School of Music Dean and Educator David Rosenboom @ G201/G202
  • 5-7PM: Dinner - Party at the Pool | Taste of Santa Clarita @ Chouinard Pool, with live music by Sadubas (ft. Robin Sukhadia '07 and Clinton Patterson '07) and a performance of CITY OF GOLD, a site-specific Chouinard Pool piece by Dead Practice (ft. Scarlett Kim '18, Dylan Phillips '18, Anthony Storniolo '18, Gabriel Jimenez '18, Carolina Vargas '18, and Josephine Wang '18)
  • 7:30-8:45PM: Screening of Felix Austria! (2013), co-directed and produced by Saturday featured forum presenter Christine Beebe '05 @ Bijou Theater
  • 8-9:30PM: Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance Concert @ Sharon Disney Lund Dance Theater
