Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Santa Clarita cordially invites you to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Historical Plaza on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 11:00 a.m.  Please join us as we honor the lives and sacrifices of our Veterans past and present and our active military.

The ceremony will begin with the tolling of the Bells of Peace, which honor those who served and sacrificed in World War I and signify the 100th anniversary of the end of the war. Additionally, the ceremony will include a reading of “In Flanders Field” and a performance of “Over There,” which were both written during World War I.

Featured speakers include Chaplain Amos Clemmons, Ted Olsen, who will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, and an opportunity to hear from Lt. Colonel David M. Jackson, who served during Operation Desert Storm, as well as in Rwanda and Haiti.

The ceremony will also feature the changing of the flags by the Knights of Columbus Santa Clarita Assembly and Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 355.
