The Comedy of Errors - Shakespeare
The Comedy of Errors is one of Shakespeare's earliest plays - his shortest and one of his most farcical comedies, focusing a major part of its humor on slapstick and mistaken identity.
The play tells the story of two sets of identical twins, accidentally separated at birth. As adults, one twin arrives at a town that turns out to be the home of the other twin brother. A series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities leads to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, arrests, and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession.
This year, FREE Shakespeare performances are performed at the newly renovated (and air-conditioned) Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts. Elizabethan fun for the entire family.
