11th Annual Family Literacy Festival: Create Your World

Literature, music, dance, crafts - this year's Family Literacy festival has it all, a joint effort of the Santa Clarita Public Library and College of the Canyons MakerSpace.

Attendees will enjoy a special story reading from Mayor Cameron Smyth and Assemblyman Dante Acosta as well as a dance performance from the Kalakeke Pacific Island Dance Company. There will also be hands-on activities with students, teachers, artists and education enthusiasts, all with the theme of "Create Your World." Teens will have options too, including the opportunity to demonstrate the library's new virtual reality system.

A free commemorative holiday ornament created by College of the Canyons MakerSpace will be given away to each family while supplies last.
